I’m sure those are the words many guys muter when looking in the mirror. Ok, maybe not, but guys do know something is not right when they’re trying on a jacket. With style it’s the little things that make a difference. Of course, this topic is not going to change the world, but sometimes guys just need answers and because of the cool style publication we are we’re going to give it to them.
According to the Art of Style,
“a collar frames the neck, and thus its shape, cut and size has a direct effect on portraying the structure of a face. The wrong collar style can accentuate facial abnormalities, making you look awkward… while the right collar style can enhance your features, making you look dapper.”
No guy that cares about his appearance wants to look awkward. I place great emphasis on the collar and it’s engineering because the design needs to stand out, draw attention, and be admired. This collar is round but his face is narrow so it does not distract from his features. What I think it does is add confidence to his overall appearance.
Do your own test, when you’re out around town take a look at guys coats, jackets, blazers, windbreakers, etc… Some collars really frame a face well. A stylish collar can make a difference.
As frivolous as this topic may seem, who knows, it may help you land a date, get a job, look healthier, younger or just make you feel even more handsome than you already are.
My call to action to you is this, go out and try on a few different collared jackets and determine what your style is. That’s the only way you’re going to find out.
Love the stripes! Also the fact that it’s denim. I could see this jacket as an staple piece.
Hi,
I appreciate the comment, I feel the same way about this jacket as well. It’s my favorite. Feedback always helps me when I design.
